Coming up late winter, the STICKS Song Collection! Teacher Melinda's very favorite of the nine sequential Music Together song collections, y our child will love going for a musical ride with "Ridin' in the Car" and "Trot to Grandma's House" this semester. We'll dance with "Don Alfredo baila," march and scamper with "The Tailor and the Mouse," and go "Pop!" with that good ol' classic weasel! Music Together is an early childhood music and movement program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the adults who love them. The program emphasizes natural, family-style learning, and songs from Music Together are designed to be both fun and educational. The specific songs used can vary as Music Together has an extensive collection that rotates through different song collections, ensuring variety and freshness for families attending multiple semesters. Some songs and tunes may become popular or well-known within the Music Together community, but the program itself doesn't focus on commercial "hits" like mainstream music does. Rather, the songs are crafted to be engaging and appropriate for young learners, often incorporating elements from various musical cultures and traditions. Hello Everybody! In 2021, our family moved to the Poulsbo area and I'm so excited now to create Music Together ® Jam Bay, offering classes in Poulsbo and Port Townsend. Surrounded by waterways on all sides, our beautiful Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas are home! Music Together Jam Bay was inspired by Liberty and Discovery Bays in our area aaaand a fun play on the djembe drum! This American Sign Language Browser out of Michigan State University is one of the best sites I have seen for user-friendly access to looking up words in sign. This week in your class, when we signed The Water is Wide, I just looked up the key words and moved my hands while we sang...so easy...so fluid...so beautiful. You can look up the words to your favorite simple songs here and then teach them to your child. Enjoy!

We have been getting from Netflix, the old Cosmos series. Wonderful! One episode explained of the amazing songs of humpback whales...they will sing part of their song in winter waters and then after traveling to summer waters, will pick up the same song on the very next beat, measure for measure...Truly Amazing!
